Important messages for Fixed Deposit Account holders (Applicable for
resident accounts)



·         Pursuant to CBDT Circular No03/11 dated 13-05-11, with
effect from 01-04-11TDS certificates will be issued ONLY to customer
who have furnished a valid PAN Number. Customers, who do not have a
valid PAN Number(as per Bank as well as IT records), would not be able
to claim a refund with the Income Tax Dept as TDS deducted shall not
reflect in 26AS in absence of valid PAN.

          You are requested to update your PAN with the Bank as well
as IT Dept at the earliest. Pls visit the nearest    HDFC Bank branch
AND log onto http://www.incometaxindia.gov.in

·         To avail TDS benefit on specific Fixed Deposits for the FY
11-12, you are requested to submit the relevant form 15G/H if
applicable. A fresh form15 G/H needs to be submitted for the FY
2011-12, within the first week of April 2011.

·         Please further note that in the absence of PAN 15G/H & other
exemption certificates will be invalid even if submitted.

Message for Salary account customers



·         In the event of no salary credits for any continuous three
months, the salary account will be converted to regular savings
account. Please refer to the T and C for further details.

Update your 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) details

As per the RBI guidelines, Banks are required to periodically update
customer identification documents, including photograph. In this
connection we request you to submit at your nearest branch a self
attested copy of your identity proof, address proof and latest
photograph along with a duly filled Customer Updation Form within a
month of receipt of this statement. The customer updation form is
available at our branches. Also you can download the same from our
website-www.hdfcbank.com under forms centre. The above instructions
are also applicable to all the joint holders in the account. As the
submission of these documents is mandatory in nature, inability to
furnish these might constrain us to initiate steps in accordance with
RBI guidelines.

Important message for Passbook registered customers



·         Since introduction of passbook in 2007, physical statement
of accounts was continued to be offered as an additional facility to
all passbook registered customers. Given the huge popularity of
passbook and stabilization of processes relating to it, it has been
decided to discontinue the issuance of physical statement of account
to all passbook registered customers effective 15th January, 2012. In
case you wish to continue receiving physical statement, you may visit
the nearest branch.

managing customer statement of account, be liable for any direct,
indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that may result
from the use or inability to use the service or out of the breach of
any warranty. The use and storage of any information including without
limitation, password, account information, transmission activity,
account balances and any other information available on the
customer&rsquo;s personal computer is at customer&rsquo;s own risk,
sole responsibility and liability. HDFC Bank may withdraw, add to or
modify the internet Banking facilities from time to time by notice to
the customer. While advance notice of maintenance work likely to
affect the Internet Banking facilities shall be given, Bank reserves
the right to suspend, upon notice, access to Internet Banking
facilities or the provision of all or any of the services at any time
if the bank deems it necessary to do so in the event of an emergency
(opinion of Bank to be conclusive in this respect) or for security
reasons. Nothing contained herein shall prejudice or affect the terms
and conditions of the account  opening agreement. The words and
expressions used herein shall have the same meaning as in the account
opening agreement.. The terms and conditions of this facility shall be
in addition to and not in derogation of the terms contained in the
account opening agreement.
